AGENDA
Please join Dr. Laura Farres, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Mental Performance Consultant for several sport organizations and a Chartered Professional coach. Dr. Farres has worked with Special Olympics BC athletes and coaches for several years, providing them with the skills to work through different challenges. As we have all experienced and navigated this pandemic differently she has developed a workshop around the following areas to support our SOBC volunteers working with our athletes. Areas she will be touching on are:
- Recognizing the affects that isolation & disconnection can have on individuals mental & physical well-being
- Recognizing pandemic related symptoms: things that could be noticed through conversation or written messages that someone is really struggling
- How to reach out and connect with someone & it be effective even if it can’t be in-person
- Ideas on how to motivate post-pandemic when motivation may be hard to find again!
