Special Olympics PEI is pleased to acknowledge the City of Summerside for their support of Islanders with an intellectual disability. A long time supporter, the City of Summerside has given Special Olympics PEI a grant in the amount of $6, 000. This grant will aid in supporting the 10 sports programs offered in Summerside, directly benefiting over 48 individuals with an intellectual disability living in the city.
Beyond this financial support, the City of Summerside, along with His Worship Mayor Basil Stewart and other members of city council, has been an integral part of the Special Olympics movement here on PEI. With this grant, Special Olympics PEI will be able to continue to provide quality sports training and competitive opportunities to Summerside residents with an intellectual disability.
