Re:                  Continued Program Suspension

Because of the ongoing health recommendations, and related facility closures, all Special Olympics PEI programs, sport events, fundraising events, and face-to-face activities will be suspended until May 30, 2020. This suspension will end our Fall/Winter program season.

It has also become clear to us that we must also cancel our May Bowling Provincials. We will not be rescheduling this event.  We understand how important this event is to our athletes, coaches, volunteers and staff.  We have reached out to our bowling coaches and they are busy being creative about how we can connect virtually during the weekend of May 23rd, so please stay tuned for more details!

We are committed, now more than ever to providing top-quality support and resources to all members of our community throughout this stay-at-home time. We know the lack of access to in-person Special Olympics activities has an impact on us all. We miss seeing all of you and we miss knowing that you are out there enjoying your sports and community activities.

We have created many opportunities to find new ways to stay active at home, and new ways to connect with each other. These opportunities are not only very important for right now, but they will be into the future as well.

As before, we will continue to follow the evolving COVID-19 situation daily, and will communicate further with members as more information is known. Thank you all so much for your patience at this time.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or any staff team member with any questions, and/or any ideas for how we can best support our SOPEI community.  I can be reached directly at csheehan@sopei.com or at 1-902-628-3450.

Thank you
