Nathan Irwin, Summerside, is a member of Team PEI 2020's Floor Hockey program. Nathan has been a Special Olympics PEI athlete for 7 years, during which time he has almost exclusively played Floor Hockey.
The Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020 in Thunder Bay, Ontario will be Nathan's second National Games. Nathan was a member of the Team PEI 2016 Floor Hockey team who captured Gold in their division at the National Winter Games in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland. Nathan says he is looking forward to meeting new people and the opportunity to play against other teams.
Nathan is one of the five Summerside area athletes on the Team PEI 2020's Floor Hockey team. Nathan trains with the Summerside Floor Hockey program, and was selected to Team PEI 2020 based on his results from the Team PEI Skills Testing event. In preparation for the National Winter Games Nathan continues to participate in the Summerside Floor Hockey program. Nathan also travels in to Charlottetown on Sundays for Team PEI 2020's Floor Hockey practice.
