The theme of the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games is "Pure Heart." Meet a few of the many members of the Special Olympics Team BC 2020 Training Squad who are demonstrating pure heart and inspiring determination in their training for the National Games!

Theo Jack and the Special Olympics BC – Kitimat Kingfishers curling team threw and swept their way to a gold medal at the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games. After they earned their spot on the Team BC 2020 Training Squad, Jack has been truly dedicated to his training, putting in at least three workouts every week. And it’s paying off: Due to his exercising and healthy diet, Jack has lost a lot of weight since becoming a member of the Team BC Training Squad.

Jack says winning gold in the SOBC Games felt good, and his goal for the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games is to win gold again. Being part of the Team BC Training Squad is an achievement itself. “I feel proud and excited,” he says.

This happy athlete is known for his big smile. He trains hard for his sport and likes being part of a team. Jack also participates in soccer, golf, and Club Fit with SOBC – Kitimat.
