When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

I got involved in 1995. My mom was told about Special Olympics by one of her co-workers and he was a Paralympian.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

In 1998 I competed in softball. In 2002, 2006, and 2010 I competed in soccer. And, in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 I competed in figure skating.

What were your results in the 2023 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I got two gold medals, one in singles and in dance. I was happy about my skating.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2024?

Iā€™m glad to have a chance to represent this great province once again.

What is your goal for these National Games?

Ā Helping all the newcomers and achieving a personal best score.

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

Ā Having the chance to compete at the national level once again and seeing old friends again.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

Ā Being able to perform in front of a large crowd.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

You have the chance to play a lot of sports and stay in good shape.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I also play curling and 10-pin bowling. I have been to eight World Games and came back home with eight gold, one silver, and one bronze.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Ambitious.
