When and how did you get involved with Special Olympics?

When I was 19 years old and after I graduated from high school, I started with alpine skiing. I learned to ski with my family and with SSASS (Silver Star Adaptive Snowsports) at Silver Star Mountain.

Will these be your first Special Olympics Canada Games? If not, which other National Games did you compete in, and in what sports?

Yes, my first time!

What were your results in the 2019 Special Olympics BC Winter Games? How did you feel about your performance?

I won one gold and two bronze medals. I felt like I did a good job.

What does it mean to you to be part of Special Olympics Team BC 2020?

It makes me happy and proud.

What is your goal for these National Games?

Staying healthy and losing weight. Going for gold - that's the one!

What does competing at National Games mean to you?

I am hoping that my brother from Fort McMurray can come and watch me ski.

What do you like most about the sport you will compete in at National Games?

I like skiing in the trees and bumps - yahoo!

What is your favourite Special Olympics experience to date?

I like travelling. I like ski trips and especially the hot tub.

What would you tell someone about Special Olympics to encourage them to get involved?

I think I will keep it to myself and focus on the good in myself.

What other Special Olympics sports do you participate in?

I do swimming, powerlifting, bowling, track and field, golf, and Club Fit.

Please tell us a little bit more about yourself! What else would you like people to know about you?

I believe in myself. I was born to be a knight like on my family crest. I protect the King. I do the right thing.

What is one word you would use to describe yourself? :)

Focused.
