Special Olympics BC athletes are children, youth, and adults with intellectual disabilities who participate in year-round sports programs all around the province.
Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities are ages 2 and up. There is no maximum age for participation.
Special Olympics athletes come from different backgrounds and experience levels. You do not need to be a competitive Olympic-level athlete to participate! We welcome a wide range of ability levels.
Being a Special Olympics athlete means that you will train and play sports in your local community at a level that suits you.
You will find success, joy, health, and friendship as part of our community. You'll have the chance to compete and be part of a team. You'll also have lots of fun!
