WHO: Open to all Coaches & Volunteers currently coaching Special Olympics NL athletes.

Special Olympics Canada’s Competition Introduction course is a qualified NCCP (National Coach Certification Program) course offered in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) to help equip coaches to empower athletes with an intellectual disability. This workshop is offered both in-person and virtually at no cost to volunteers. All coaches are required to complete this workshop within their first year of coaching with Special Olympics.

Topics in this workshop cover associated disabilities, basic delivery of sport skills, sport-specific and competition-based fitness, competition, and safety.
