Awesome performances and amazing supporters at Bowling Championships

SOBC 10-pin

Bowling alleys throughout P.E.I. continue to be packed with friends, family, and local fans as supporters cheer on athletes from across the country at the 2018 Special Olympics Canada Bowling Championships!

“There’s a lot of energy in there!” said SOBC – Quesnel coach Ellen Martz. “It’s fantastic to feed off of.”

The support continues outside of the venues, with many local businesses welcoming the athletes with signs and residents greeting and congratulating bowlers as they explore the community.

The warm welcome has had a positive impact on Team BC athletes, who had another impressive day on the lanes! Five-pin bowlers continued their match play competition with two B.C. teams making it into the finals, and 10-pin bowlers rounded off the Championships with impressive performances in their singles event.

5-pin bowling

Five-pin bowlers continued to outpace their averages today, with many finishing their Championships experience with new personal bests. The Mission Strikers R Us team placed first in their division, and will be playing for a gold medal in the finals tomorrow! The Quesnel Alley Cats also did exceptionally well in their matches, finishing second in their division and moving on to tomorrow’s final medal round. Find the 5-pin medal round schedule here.

Five-pin results will be posted here following the final competitions and medal presentations. Find daily individual and team scores here.
