Meet Special Olympics PEI athlete Rachael Loggie

Rachel Loggie

Rachael Loggie hails from Charlottetown, PEI and has been involved in Special Olympics for 14 years. During this time Rachael has participated, and competed, in a number of sports, including swimming, curling, soccer and rhythmic gymnastics.

Rachael has been a rhythmic gymnast since the sport was first introduced to the region in 2014. Rachael's natural gracefulness, and strong dance background, made her a natural at the sport, which combined with hard work and focus, have led to her success. Rachael earned her spot on Team PEI going to the Special Olympics Canada 2018 Summer Games in Antigonish this July following a strong showing at Provincial Games. Rachael placed 2nd in each of the four Level 1 apparatuses.

While 2018 might mark the first time PEI has sent a rhythmic gymnast to National Games, this will not be Rachael's first time representing PEI on the national stage. Rachael was a member of Team PEI Swimming, at the young age of 17, at the 2010 National Summer Games in London, Ontario.
