This February 14th and 24th, Polar Plunge is coming back to Regina and Moose Jaw, respectively. This year is the 2nd Annual Polar Plunge hosted by Saskatchewan Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Saskatchewan. Special Olympics Saskatchewan aims to enrich the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through participation in sport. This can only be made possible through the generous donations that are raised at events such as the Polar Plunge. This event aims to specifically raise money for all athletes in Special Olympics Saskatchewan to be able to participate in their varied sports and events throughout 2018. This would be a great way to have fun while supporting a great cause! Come in a costume and jump into freezing cold water!
The Regina plunge will take place in City Square Plaza on February 14th starting at 11:30 am. Do something memorable this Valentine’s Day and come out to plunge! The Moose Jaw plunge will take place in the Canadian Tire parking lot on February 24th and the event starts at 12: pm. You can start by collecting pledges from friends, family and coworkers and, remember, the more money you raise, the more incentive you earn. There will be awards to win including the Golden Plunger and Polar Bear Award. To take home one of these prestigious awards, raise the most pledges or wear the best costume!
Too chicken to plunge? Not to worry, you can still support the cause! Help us by either donating or participating in our Too Chicken to Plunge Raffle. Buy raffle tickets the day before the event and the day of! The winning ticket will be drawn via corresponding numbered chicken that will take the plunge for you immediately following the human plungers. Chickens will be rescued from the water at random, whereby we’ll see if your ticket number matches the number on the chicken as there will be some great prizes!
