2022 Coaches Symposium!

This year's coaches symposium was held at Manitou Springs Resort located in Watrous, Saskatchewan. Over 90 coaches from the community's across Western Canada came to partake in this exciting weekend! Here is a recap of what all took place:

Friday evening, coaches checked in, had supper, and played some icebreakers to kick-start the weekend. Following was a service and volunteer awards for Special Olympics Saskatchewan. To end the night off, coaches attended the social and visited the natural mineral pool. 

Saturday morning the program started with Mark Epp from the University of Saskatchewan, where he discussed the different challenges in performance and the effects of full investment in sports. Following Epp's presentation, guest speaker Allan Kehler made a powerful presentation on mental health and finding ways to enhance our toolbox to deal with anxiety and stress.

Sunday's guest speakers were Al Bodnarchuk who presented on injury prevention and management and Paralympic athlete Viviane Forest! Viviane shared her experiences in the Olympics and many other touching stories that have helped her become who she is today!
