Your contribution, no matter the size, will aid us in ensuring that the thousands of children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability who use our programs are able to continue to do so.
Special Olympics Canada is largely a volunteer-based organization, and we depend on support from our partners and donors to provide programs, mentorship, and resources. You can be certain that your donation will be put to use to directly benefit those who we work hard to support.
You can make a gift in several different ways:
Donation at National Level
Special Olympics Canada accepts online donations on behalf of individuals or organizations. You can make a one-time gift or choose to continue giving on a monthly basis. We also offer the option of making a gift in honour or in memory of someone, with the choice of sending a card.
Please visit our Online Donation page to make your gift.
Donation to a Chapter
You can direct your gift to a provincial or territorial Chapter, and in some areas, you can even choose to support a particular local community program.
Please visit your Chapter website to make your local gift now.
TEXT TO GIVE
Text SPORT to 20222 to make a $10 donation via your cellular phone. Your donation will automatically appear on your monthly bill from your cellular phone provider.
Gift of Securities
Donating publically traded stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities is a tax-smart way to support Special Olympics Canada while enhancing your charitable gift. By donating publically traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that would be payable if you were to first sell the stock, and then donate the proceeds.
Donating securities is easy! Simply fill out the "Securities Donation Form (PDF)” below to have your brokerage electronically transfer your gift of stock or securities from your account to Special Olympics Canada’s account. You will receive a tax receipt for income tax purposes for the full appreciated value of your securities on the day that they are received.

Gifts in kind
Gifts in Kind provide Special Olympics Canada with invaluable office and sports equipment, technology and day to day goods that are essential to run our programs and services in communities across Canada. Some companies also offer their services free of charge: for instance, by printing an event program or providing professional advice. All of this reduces our overhead costs and allow us to spend more resources on our greatest priority: enriching the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through sport.
In donating a Gift in Kind to Special Olympics Canada, we can publicize to our athletes, families, and our online community the generosity of your gift and your commitment to helping our athletes, of all ages and a wide range of abilities, to participate in programs and to experience the transformative power and joy of sport.
