Jordan Stephenson Memorial Speedskating Event

When: Sunday, February 7th in Saskatoon

Where:  Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval

1201 Dudley Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Located at Dudley Street and Avenue R South, within the Gordie Howe Sports Complex.

Special Olympics Saskatchewan is proud to partner with Speed Skating Saskatchewan to host a marathon speed skating fundraiser and drop-in public skate in memory of Jordan Stevenson.

The event will bring athletes, families, friends and community members together to celebrate Jordan’s life, share his love of skating and raise funds to support Special Olympics speed skaters throughout Saskatchewan. Funds raised may assist Special Olympics athletes with equipment, registration fees, training opportunities, competition costs and travel.

Jordan was passionate about speed skating, competing to the best of his ability and encouraging others to enjoy the sport. He was a talented athlete, supportive teammate and positive role model who inspired both experienced and younger skaters.

Jordan’s legacy will continue through this event by helping Special Olympics athletes across the province experience the sport he loved. Special Olympics Saskatchewan and Speed Skating Saskatchewan hope the Jordan Stevenson Memorial Skate will become an annual event that celebrates inclusion, friendship and the joy of skating.
