The 2017 PEI School Athletics Association Track and Field Provincials will offer events for all individuals. In partnership with ParaSport and Recreation & Special Olympics PEI, there will be the following events available for any individual with a physical or intellectual disability wanting to participate in competition in track and field:
- Short Distance Run (60m-100m)
- Long Jump
- Shot Put
Athletes must attend the qualifying competition to participate at the Provincial competition. The Zone 2 meet has been selected as the qualifying competition because it currently offers categories for all individuals at their zone meets Transportation subsidies are available upon request for all schools outside Zone 2 attending the qualifying competition. Athletes are expected to be training with their school teams leading up to the qualifying and provincial competitions.
