26-year-old Julia has participated in Special Olympics for 17 years. Both her parents are Swimming Coaches for the Thorold program. Julia won three Gold medals at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, 2011 two Gold and two Silver at the 2015 World Games in L.A. and five Gold and two Silver at the 2018 National Games in Antigonish. Julia says Special Olympics has made her a more confident person and she is proud to represent Canada at the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi. In her spare time, Julia likes going out for coffee with friends.
