Yukon Athlete Returns for Sixth Special Olympics Canada Games

Carrie Rudolph will be representing Team Yukon at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Competing in bocce this year, Carrie has attended five previous Special Olympics Canada Games: London, Ontario (2010) and Vancouver, British Columbia (2014) in 5-Pin Bowling, Antigonish, Nova Scotia (2018) in Bocce, and Thunder Bay, Ontario (2020) and Calgary, Alberta (2024) in Curling. One of her favourite memories was winning a medal at the 2014 Games in Vancouver. She also participates on Special Olympics Yukon’s bowling and curling teams and said it was hard to come up with a favourite sport.

First joining Special Olympics Yukon over 20 years ago after some friends encouraged her, Carrie chose to stay because of the social connections she made through sport. As part of her training for Medicine Hat, Carrie said she is focusing on, “strategy and tactics.”
