Special Olympics PEI, Team PEI 2024, Jamie Trowsdale

Jamie Trowsdale has been a Special Olympics athlete for over 30 years! In addition to 5-Pin Bowling, over the years Jamie has also participated in Athletics, Softball, and Swimming.

Jamie joined Special Olympics to have fun, meet new people, and for the opportunity to travel to competitions and see some new places. After over 30 years in Special Olympics, it is safe to say that Jamie has had some incredible and unique experiences. In 1995 Jamie was a member of Team Canada and had the opportunity to compete in the sport of swimming at the World Summer Games in Connecticut, USA. Jamie recalls the memorable experience of the pool being outdoors, and the weather being great! He also recall how amazing it was to have the opportunity to represent his country.

More recently, Jamie competed at the 2020 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Thunder Bay. As a member of PEI's 5-Pin Bowling team Jamie won a Gold medal in his division in the individual competition.
