How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

More than 20 years.

How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?

When I was 12 years old I joined Special Olympics and started out swimming. I swam for more than 15 years. Then one day I went golfing for the first time and found my new favourite sport. I love LOVE golf. It has opened many doors for me.

What do you like most about the sport you will be competing in at Special Olympics World Summer Games Berlin 2023?

I love everything about golf. I can’t wait for every time I get to practice and try to hit the ball farther and better than I have before. It keeps me focused.

What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?

I have two proud moments and can’t decide which is best! I competed in swimming in Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai and brought home 2 silver medals. I also competed in golf in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi with my dad as my caddie and came home with a silver medal.

What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?

It means the world to me I thought that my time competing at World Games was over, but I feel very lucky to have another opportunity. I can’t tell you how proud I am to be a part of this team.

What is your goal for Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023?

My first goal is to trade as many pins with Special Olympics athletes from all over the world – I love to trade pins. While I am trading I get to meet many other athletes. My other main goal is to try my hardest to bring home gold to Canada and to my community.
