Special Olympics Saskatchewan Host Annual Awards Gala

Special Olympics Saskatchewan hosted our 2025-2026 Annual Awards Gala on September 26, 2026.
The awards gala is hosted every year to celebrate our incredible athletes, volunteers, coaches, and supporters who work so hard to make Special Olympics Saskatchewan what it is. Volunteers who have reached milestone anniversaries of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service were also recognized.
The following are the award recipients:
Athlete Lifetime Dedication Award: Kelly McRuvie
Athlete of the Year: Lucas Faye
Bob Pedde Memorial Award: Debra MacDonald
Coach of the Year: Kelly Brown
Junior Coach/Volunteer of the Year: Jayda Church
Shining Star Award: Taylor Brooks
Team of the Year: Regina Wildcats
Unsung Hero Award: Carl Kruger, Regina
Saskatchewan Law Enforcement Torch Run Outstanding Service Award: Joe Tataryn, Saskatoon Police Service
SaskEnergy Volunteer Champion Award: Ali Klippenstine (Weyburn) and Mike Penno (Regina)
President's Merit of Order Award: Jay's Transport Group
These awards are meant to highlight outstanding leadership, performance, courage, and so much more. Regardless of winning an award, everyone at Special Olympics Saskatchewan has made a difference and helped foster a positive and supportive environment.
