Special Olympics Spotlight Program with Charlottetown Islanders
Special Olympics PEI is thrilled to once again have partnered with the Charlottetown Islanders for the Special Olympics Spotlight program!
The Special Olympics Spotlight program offers Special Olympics athletes a unique experience. At each Charlottetown Islanders regular season home game a Special Olympics athlete will be able to attend the game, with a guest, and will be spotlighted during the game. The experience also includes a meet and greet with players, photos and a poster.
This year's Special Olympics Spotlight Program is being championed by Charlottetown Islanders Centre, Antoine Provencher. Drafted 7th overall by the Islanders in the 2025 QMJHL Entry Draft, Provencher recorded 15 points in 51 games during his rockie season, including a memorable shorthanded playoff goal against the Quebec Remparts.
The return of the Special Olympics Spotlight Program is much anticipated by our local athletes. 5-Pin Bowling athlete, Karly MacNeill, was this year's first spotlighted athlete. An athlete for 8 years, Karly loves going to see the Islanders play!
