Special Olympics PEI Receives $25,000 Donation from PEI Mutual Insurance Company
PEI Mutual Insurance Company has made a $25,000 donation to Special Olympics. As Special Olympics PEI’s Founding partner, now in their 34th year of championing the organization, PEI Mutual has now contributed a cumulative total of over $450,000.
Summerside athlete, Ty MacLeod, along with Special Olympics PEI's Executive Director, Charity Sheehan, stopped by PEI Mutual earlier this week to accept the donation, and to say thank you for the continued generosity.
With PEI Mutual cheering him on, Ty has the opportunity this August to represent PEI at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat Alberta. Ty is attending this first SOC Games, and will be competing in basketball. This Summer will be the next step in a life-long journey with Special Olympics for Ty who started off in the Active Start program when he was 5 years old.
The long-term support of PEI Mutual has made a significant impact in Special Olympics PEI’s ability to enrich the lives of our athletes through sport, Athlete Leadership and inclusive health. Special Olympics PEI current provides opportunities for over 850 athletes, and thanks to supporters like PEI Mutual Insurance Company we are able to continue to expand our programs, enriching the lives of more athletes.
