Year of the Volunteer - Law Enforcement Torch Run member Lori-Anne Duffy

2026 is the International Year of Volunteers. All year long we will be highlighting and celebrating our amazing volunteers.

With April being Polar Plunge month, we are excited to highlight Law Enforcement Torch Run member Lori-Anne Duffy! Lori is a long time LETR volunteer and is seen year after year in the National Parks helping facilitate different LETR fundraisers and awareness campaigns.

We asked Lori a few questions about her experience volunteering with the Law Enforcement Torch Run in PEI.

Question: What do you enjoy most about being part of the PEI LETR?

Answer: What I enjoy most about being part of the PEI Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee for Special Olympics is the opportunity to collaborate with partner agencies toward a shared goal. Being part of a meaningful, supportive group that directly contributes to empowering and celebrating Special Olympics athletes is incredibly rewarding.

Question: What is your favourite part about participating in the Polar Plunge?

Answer: My favourite part about participating in the Polar Plunge is the excitement in the air as the event unfolds. Seeing so many people come out to support the cause, along with the smiles on everyone’s faces, makes the experience unforgettable and truly uplifting.

Question: Why should others consider volunteering with LETR?

Answer: Others should consider volunteering with the Law Enforcement Torch Run because it’s an amazing group of dedicated, supportive people to work alongside. The committee helps raise money for a very important cause, and working directly with Special Olympics athletes is not only meaningful but also incredibly fun and inspiring.
