Meet Team PEI 2026 Mission Staff & Golf Caddie, Craig Watson

2026 is the International Year of Volunteers. All year long we will be highlighting and celebrating our amazing volunteers.

The opportunity to compete at a Special Olympics Canada Games is life changing for our athletes, and is made possible thanks to the dedication of some amazing volunteers, like Craig Watson. Coming from a background in golf, and with robust experience supporting athletes at all levels of competitions, Craig is a valued member of Team PEI 2026. Along with being a Mission Staff, Craig is also Golf Caddie to Colton Matheson. 

We asked Craig a few questions about her experience volunteering with Special Olympics PEI.

Question: What is your favourite part about being a member of Team PEI 2026?

Answer: It means a great deal being able to represent Special Olympics PEI on this journey, alongside an incredible team of athletes, coaches, and Mission Staff - all the while being afforded the opportunity to watch our incredible Team PEI athletes shine on the national stage.

Q: What is your favourite overall part about being a volunteer with Special Olympics PEI?

A: Being a part of the incredible Special Olympics PEI family - athletes, coaches, parents, staff, volunteers, and developing all these new friendships has been life-changing, to say the least!

Q: Why should others consider volunteering with Special Olympics PEI?

A: As a volunteer with Special Olympics PEI, you will empower individuals with intellectual disabilities, foster local community inclusion, and build meaningful relationships along the way… you will be inspired by the determination and spirit of our athletes!
