Special Olympics PEI, SOPEI, Speed Skating, Team PEI 2020

Team PEI 2020's Speed Skating Team will be represented by 2 athletes at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020 - Logan Robbins (Charlottetown) and Jordan Koughan (Fort Augustus). Both Logan and Jordan are training hard, and are ready to take on the country as they continue to strive for personal bests! The 2020 National Games will be the first time in recent history that Team PEI has sent Speed Skating athletes to National Games.

Logan, despite being the youngest member of Team PEI, is no stranger to competing on the National Stage. Logan was a member of Team PEI 2018's Soccer Team, who along with competing at the 2018 National Summer Games, also competed at the 2019 Special Olympics Yukon Indoor Soccer Invitational. The 2020 National Winter Games will be Jordan's first National Games. Starting off in Special Olympics as a multi-sport athlete, Jordan has found in Speed Skating a sport he is passionate about, and is looking forward to his first National Games. Team PEI Speed Skating is being led by Head Coach Kristen MacDonald.

In February of 2020, Special Olympics PEI will be represented by 38 athletes, supported by 11 coaches and 8 mission staff, at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Team PEI will compete in sports: 5-Pin Bowling, Cross Country Skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Floor Hockey, Snowshoeing, and Speed Skating.  Be sure to follow along between now and February as we continue to Meet Team PEI 2020!

Supporters of Special Olympics PEI are invited to follow Team PEI 2020, both in the lead-up to, and during the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020! Our Team PEI 2020 website will be updated with schedules and results during the Games, and our social media channels - FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, will have photos and up to the minute news and highlights.
