HIGHLIGHTS

  • Kitchener-Waterloo track and field athlete Peter Snider ran the 200-metre in less than 24-seconds, earning the gold medal.
  • Ontario Powerlifter Paul Perrault dominated the competition today earning golds in squat, bench press, deadlift and overall.
  • Manitoba’s Philip Bialk went undefeated in his bocce matches, earning a gold medal in men’s singles. Ontario’s Neil MacDonald got silver.
  • SO Team Canada had their final basketball game against Team U.S.A. The stands were packed with supporters, the team started in the lead, but unfortunately lost 31-19.

  • 10-pin bowlers brought in four gold, one silver and two bronze in men’s and women’s singles events.

Powerlifter Josee Seguin travelled to Abu Dhabi with a giant Kit Kat bar from home and ate it last night to celebrate her new personal best, gold and silver medals.

  • SO Team Canada is back on the soccer field vs. Team Portugal at 12 p.m.
  • Swimmers compete in the 4 x 100 metre relay, 25-metre freestyle and 50-metre butterfly.
  • Four 10-pin bowlers compete in the ladies doubles event at 11:30 a.m. GST
  • Bocce players compete in the women’s singles event
  • Golfers are back on the course at YAS Links from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. GST
  • Track and field athletes compete in the 100-metre, 400-metre, pentathlon and 5,000-metre events
  • Rhythmic gymnasts compete at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. GST
