HIGHLIGHTS

The Special Olympics World Games officially kicked off with the Opening Ceremony at Abu Dhabi's Zayed Sports City Stadium.
Honorary Coach Marnie McBean walked in the parade of athletes with SO Team Canada.
SO Team Canada soccer player Eddie Nicks participated in the torch relay, helping to light the cauldron at the end of the Ceremony.
After a concert with Avril Lavigne, Luis Fonsi and others, athletes headed to bed to rest for their first day of competition tomorrow!
