Get bold and cold to help Special Olympics BC athletes get back in the game!
From February 18 to March 5, anyone and everyone participated in the 2023 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC. Participants took the #Plunge4SOBC and raised vital funds to help rebuild Special Olympics BC’s empowering year-round sport, youth, and health programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities!
Participating in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC was an easy and fun way for all of us to connect and show we care about people with intellectual disabilities and creating inclusion.
Make a difference for Special Olympics BC
This year, the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics BC played a vital part in helping athletes reconnect with their friends and the SOBC family that matter to them.
Special Olympics BC volunteers, athletes, and supporters around the province are currently working hard rebuilding our life-changing programs. But we’re only a third of the way back to our usual capacity to change lives.
The pandemic has had a long-lasting, far-reaching impact on athletes with intellectual disabilities, who were already far too familiar with the pain of isolation, and on Special Olympics BC. More than ever, we need your support to rebuild all of our year-round, in-person sport programs that create empowering connections, open hearts and minds to inclusion, and break down barriers.
Your Plunge helped reunite friends on the playing fields in Special Olympics BC’s safe and inclusive programs.
