How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 2 years.  

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

After graduation, I was curious about how I could keep playing sports. That’s when I learned about Special Olympics PEI, and it gave me the chance to continue doing what I love. Since joining, I’ve had the opportunity to try different sports, stay active, and be part of a great community.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

My biggest challenge has been communication, but Special Olympics has helped me find confidence and make friends.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in Soccer, Athletics, and Multi-Sport.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Participating in Special Olympics has taught me so much. I’ve learned the importance of teamwork, friendship, and never giving up. It has given me confidence, joy, and the chance to keep playing the sports I love while being part of a supportive community.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I’m most looking forward to meeting new friends, being part of the team, and enjoying the whole experience of the 2026 SOC Summer Games. And seeing a new province.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favorite Special Olympics moment was hearing the crowd cheer when I made a basket.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Being part of Team PEI 2026 means representing my province with pride, giving my best, and sharing the experience with an amazing team.
