How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years.  

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I started with Active Start as a way to meet others with special needs and to get active!

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

A challenge I have overcome is shyness and getting out of my comfort zone by getting involved in the action of games.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in Powerlifting.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Participating in Special Olympics has taught me that win or lose, it is important to be a great teammate.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to the whole experience with Team PEI.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was winning Gold in basketball at the Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games in Nova Scotia in 2022.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Being a part of Team PEI 2026 means doing my best, for myself and my teammates.
