How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?
I have been an athlete with Special Olympics for 15 years.
Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?
I first got involved with Special Olympics to be more active in an organized sport environment and to meet new friends.
What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?
A challenge I have overcome is getting to know people and making small talk with strangers.
What other sports do you participate in?
I also participate in 5-Pin Bowling and Cross Country Skiing.
What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?
Participating in Special Olympics has taught me to respect the rules of the game, be fair to other players and to be tolerant of slower players.
What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?
Being at the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games and playing bocce will be fun. I am most looking forward to Opening Ceremonies, hopefully winning a medal, and doing my best. I am also looking forward to cheering on my teammates in their sport.
What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?
My favourite Special Olympics moments was competing at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2024 in Calgary when I did not fall going down hill in my race and won a gold medal.
What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?
It means that I promise to do my best and make the team proud of my performance.
