How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for over 15 years.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

A friend told me about Special Olympics, so I thought I would try something new to get me out there instead of being inside the house all the time. 

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

A challenge I have overcome is finding friends and getting myself out there to have fun.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Participating in Special Olympics has taught me teamwork and working together.  

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to meeting new people.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was when we won Gold at Provincial Summer Games in Wolfville, NS.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

It means going to places I have not been to before.
