How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics for 11 years.          

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I first joined the Special Olympics Staff as an intern out of university. Through that 9-month internship I saw the impact this organization has on the lives of our athletes and their families. Several years later, when the opportunity presented itself, I accepted a job with Special Olympics. Being a part of the Special Olympics movement has had a tremendously positive impact on my life. I find fulfilment in knowing I am giving back and doing something meaningful. I feel as if what I am doing is making a difference.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to telling the story of Team PEI 2026, celebrating the amazing accomplishments of our Team, and making sure our supporters and families back home feel connected.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was the Closing Ceremonies at the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin. Having attended the Games as a Communications Liaison, I had spend an amazing 2 weeks, with an amazing team. The Closing was the culmination of all that hard work, and dancing in the snow was a great way to cap off the experience.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Being a part of Team PEI 2026 is a tremendous honour. I look forward to playing a role in ensuring the success of Team PEI 2026.
