How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics for 2 years.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I first got involved with Special Olympics after working closely with children with disabilities. I found this job so inspiring I wanted to do more!  Special Olympics offered a way to use my passion to support athletes of all abilities.

What I didn’t expect was how much they would change my life. Coaching these athletes has taught me more about determination, courage, and pure joy than I ever imagined. Watching them grow, not just as athletes, but as confident, capable individuals, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Special Olympics PEI isn’t just an organization. It’s a family, and I’m incredibly proud and grateful to be a part of it.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am most looking forward to watching the athletes thrive on a national level!

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

During the 2025 Provincial Summer Games in Nova Socita, some Team PEI basketball players started a dance battle during half time!

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Being part of Team 2026 is an incredible honour. It means I get to support a group of dedicated, passionate athletes as they take on one of the biggest challenges and celebrations of their lives.
