How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics for 21 years.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

Special Olympics has allowed me to be more involved in my community through volunteering. It has allowed me to be more involved in sports by coaching, fundraising, mentoring, while enabling inclusiveness and safe sport for athletes who may not get opportunities outside of Special Olympics organization.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to being part of a larger team of individuals that will come together with a common goal and celebrate their love of the sport they are representing. Assisting the athletes to be do their best, have fun and make new memories is a privilege!

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

Attending the Opening Ceremonies at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2011 in Greece as part of Team Canada was one of my many favourite moments throughout the years I've been part of the Special Olympics organization.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?
