How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 18 years.  

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

It was at a coffee shop in Kensington when Barry Murray asked me if I wanted to try playing Floor Hockey. I said yes to him. I have been to many new places and met many friends along the way.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

I have had to overcome many injuries.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in Basketball.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Participating in Special Olympics has taught me sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork and respect of my coaches and teammates.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I'm looking forward to seeing my teammates from Special Olympics Team Canada 2023.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was when I won a Gold medal in the 1500m at the Special Olympics World Summer Games 2023 in Berlin!

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

It is a huge honour being part of Team PEI 2026!
