How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics for 14 years.  

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

My first official SO event was volunteering with the 2004 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games that were hosted her in PEI. I was at Holland College and it was part of our course to volunteer for the event. It wasn't until 7 years later when I was looking for a job after graduating that there was an opportunity to finish a contract as youth coordinator. 14 years later I am still here!

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am excited to get back into the summer cycle of Games and seeing our athletes perform at national games!

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

Nothing specific but anytime seeing our athletes compete and seeing our coaches in their element.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Working hard to a united goal.
