How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been involved with Special Olympics for 5 years as a coach and 20 years as the parent of an athlete.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I got involved in Special Olympics because my 2 sons are involved in Special Olympics. It has opened my eyes as to how simple they see life and are happy about everything. It keeps me grounded.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to seeing the joy in the athletes when they arrive in Medicine Hat. For some it will be first time flying. As well to see the athlete compete and socialize with the other teams from across Canada.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was the joy (my son) Jordan experienced competing at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2020 in Thunder Bay.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Gives me the opportunity to see the athletes live in the moment as I feel SO athletes have the ability to do and hopefully experience something great with the TEAM PEI as we represent our Island.
