How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I wanted to get involved with Special Olympics so that I wouldn't be judged by my disability and to have the confidence in myself to succeed and make friends. I learned that I am no different then anyone else, with or without a disability.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

I have gained so much confidence in myself to talk to other people and have a conversation.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in Community Sport.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Special Olympics has taught me that winning is nice but trying your best is more important. It has also taught me to cheer on my team, listen to my coaches and being there for my friends. I know that no matter what your disability is you will have a great time in life.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am most looking forward to making new memories because every Games are different - each time there are new memories to be made!

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was competing at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2024 in Calgary, my first winter games for floor hockey.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

Team PEI 2026 means I am part of a team and playing the best I can.
