How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years.   

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I got involved because I enjoy sports and it is a good place to make friends and socialize.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

Travelling can sometimes be a barrier, including at the past Provincial Summer Games to Nova Scotia.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in 5-Pin Bowling and Floor Hockey.  

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Participating in Special Olympics has taught me leadership.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to doing our best.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite Special Olympics moment was competing as a member of Team PEI Floor Hockey at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games 2024 in Calgary.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

It means a lot to me to be picked to play on Team PEI and participate in the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games. I know everyone does not get this opportunity and it is a huge accomplishment
