How many years have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I have been a Special Olympics athlete for 25 years.

Why did you first get involved with Special Olympics and how has it changed your life?

I got involved in Special Olympics to be able to make some friends that would accept me and to be more active in sports. I wouldn’t be the same person who I am today if it wasn’t for Special Olympics.

What is a challenge or barrier that you have overcome?

A challenge I have overcome is trying to run harder get back to defence position.

What other sports do you participate in?

I also participate in Figure Skating.

What has participating in Special Olympics taught you?

Special Olympics has taught me to be patient, play as hard as I can, but also have some fun as well.

What are you most looking forward to at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games?

I am looking forward to making memories with my teammates.

What is your favourite Special Olympics moment?

My favourite moment is when we were playing soccer at the Provincial Summer Games in 2022. We were in a shoot out and I made a goal on the net.

What does being a part of Team PEI 2026 mean to you?

I am very proud of myself to get to represent my province.
