How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

For 20 years.

How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?

Through Special Olympics I excelled through sport, I made life long friends and improved my quality of life. I have had the chance to travel to every province and one territory and to compete in the sports that I enjoy and develop my skills to the best of my ability and pass this on to other athletes.

What do you like most about the sport you will be competing in at Special Olympics World Summer Games Berlin 2023?

I like Soccer because it is a team sport and I like being a part of team and working together. I’m also psyched that its an all-female team.

What is your proudest moment with Special Olympics?

I have a lot of proud moments but to win gold at my first Special Olympics World Winter Games would be up there with winning the gold medal at 2011 Canada Games after a broken ankle and less than 4 weeks to train when I was not to be skating at all. Its the only gold medal that PEI has at Canada Games for Special Olympics.

What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?

It's an opportunity to push myself to be the best that I can be with my peers.

What is your goal for Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023?

To represent my province and country to the best of my ability. To work hard and play hard for the chance of a lifetime.
