In 2023 the Government of Canada introduced the King Charles III Coronation Medal—a commemorative honour awarded to individuals across the country who have demonstrated outstanding service to Canada, its communities, and its people. Among those recognized were a remarkable group of individuals from within the Special Olympics movement in Canada—athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters whose extraordinary dedication has helped build a more inclusive and empowered nation.
