Joy is Gold

Share the Joy
Some moments are impossible to put into words. The pride of crossing a finish line. The confidence of making a new friend. The feeling of hearing your name cheered from the sidelines. The joy of belonging exactly as you are.
Special Olympics Canada is giving that feeling a name.
Joy Is Gold, a new national campaign developed in partnership with Grey Canada, shines a light on the life-changing impact that Special Olympics has on athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, volunteers, coaches, and communities across the country.

What does Joy Is Gold mean to you?
Maybe it was crossing a finish line you once thought was out of reach. Meeting a teammate who became a lifelong friend. Finding your voice — on and off the field of play. Maybe it was discovering how sport could make you stronger, healthier or more confident. Watching your child discover what they’re capable of. Finding a community you didn’t know you were missing. Or witnessing a moment of sportsmanship that reminded you what sport can be at its very best.
Joy Is Gold means something different to everyone in our movement — and we want to hear what it means to you.
Record a short video sharing your #JoyIsGold story and post it to your social channels. Tell us about a moment when you experienced the joy of Special Olympics and why it has stayed with you.
