Volunteers can choose to get involved at the club, community, regional or Provincial/Territorial Chapter levels. Some volunteers offer a few hours of their time a year at specific events, while others work several hours a week year-round.
Coaching is commonly first thought of when it comes to volunteer roles, but it is certainly not the only option to volunteer within the organization. A crucial group of volunteers are the Operational Volunteers who ensure that the clubs and programs keep running at all levels of Special Olympics. Roles include Team managers, administration, officiating, program support, sitting on a council or committee or helping at games or competitions.
Volunteers are needed at both the local Community level, the Chapter level and at the National office.
