The Annual Larry Gibson Memorial Fun Walk-Run for Special Olympics Alberta-Camrose is back for the fifth year!
Sign-up to run or walk with us and support our mission to create an inclusive community! All funds raised will help us to provide year-round sports programming, mental wellness training, and peer-networking opportunities locally, for our Special Olympics athletes. Through Special Olympics, athletes develop sports skills, social skills, and self-esteem. All of these assist them in becoming actively involved in recreational, educational, and employment opportunities on and off the playing field.
Join us at Mirror Lake on May 7th, 2022 as we walk and run in memory of Special Olympics volunteer, Larry Gibson, coach, friend, and advocate for our athletes at Special Olympics Alberta-Camrose.
Event Details:
Check-in begins at 10:00 a.m. MST next to Bill Fowler Centre, 5402 48 Avenue, Mirror Lake. Walk-Run begins at 10:30 a.m. MST, around the large loop 2.70 km. Participants are welcome to walk-run the loop more than one time. Bottled water and prepackaged snacks will be available for all participants.
