Sobeys wants to raise $1 million for Special Olympics athletes. Are you up for the challenge?

From April 1 to 15, you can add “support Canadians with an intellectual disability” to your grocery list. Sobeys banner stores from coast to coast are holding an in-store fundraising campaign to support Special Olympics athletes across Canada. To participate, all you have to do is say “YES” to donating $2 at the check out.

Sobeys, a dedicated partner since 2016, helps our athletes, families and coaches eat better and feel better with nutrition guides, cooking classes and fresh, accessible food.

Our top priority throughout the pandemic has been to ensure our athletes remain safe, healthy and active at home, while feeling connected and supported throughout these challenging times. It is with the help of partners like Sobeys Inc., that Special Olympics continues to be able to put the athletes first and work to build up our resources and ensure that we are ready for a safe return to sport.

This April 1 to 15, we hope you head into your local Sobeys banner store and answer, "Challenge accepted."

Together, we can raise $1M and help Special Olympics athletes hungry to participate.

Sobeys support at Games

This year, members of the Sobeys family attended the Special Olympics Winter Games in Thunder Bay to cheer on athletes and witness their support in action.

As a Diamond Sponsor of the Games, Sobeys, through its Safeway banner, supplied healthy meals and snacks to athletes and volunteers.
