How long have you been involved with Special Olympics?

I first joined in 2003.

How is your life different since joining Special Olympics?

Special Olympics has changed me to become more confident, accepting, resilient and open. I have been able to maintain my physical wellbeing and due to Special Olympics, I have been able to improve in other areas of my life.

How have you been preparing yourself for competition?

I have set a goal to keep improving on my time. I am training five times a week.

What is the biggest challenge you've overcome in your life?

I continue to develop new techniques to help work on my overall mental health. Overtime I have learned that regular exercise, being self-aware and having a support group helps.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

As of recent, my greatest accomplishment that I am most proud of is being name to Special Olympics Team Canada 2022 Training Squad.

What does Special Olympics and attending World Games mean to you?

Special Olympics gives me purpose and meaning. Going to the World Games to represent my country, it means the ‘world’ to me!
