Excitement is building as Gander prepares to welcome athletes, coaches, and fans from across the province for the 2025 Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Summer Games, taking place July 4–6.
Athletes will compete in four sports—Athletics, Bocce, Golf, and Swimming—showcasing their hard work, determination, and team spirit. Events will be held at venues across Gander, with the town set to transform into a hub of celebration and inclusion.
The weekend kicks off with an Opening Ceremony on July 4, followed by two full days of competition and community pride. The Games will wrap up on July 6 with awards presentations and closing celebrations.
This year’s event also serves as a qualifier for athletes hoping to represent Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
Gander is proud to play host and is inviting everyone to come out, cheer on the athletes, and experience the power of sport to unite and inspire.
